Zak Brown believes it would be "arrogant" for McLaren to believe it enters the 2025 F1 season as title favourites.

McLaren ended a 26-year-long wait to be constructors' champions in 2024, as Lando Norris finished second in the drivers' championship - last won for the team by Lewis Hamilton in 2008.

Given the questions around Red Bull and Mercedes towards the end of 2024 with their respective form, McLaren would appear to be entering '25 along with Ferrari, as best-placed to defend its constructors' and win the drivers' titles.

However, Brown believes any talk of regarding McLaren as the title favourites is wide of the mark.

"I think favourites would be arrogant," Brown told select media including RacingNews365 when asked if McLaren would start 2025 as title favourites.

"I can see no reason why we can't be one of the favourites, as you've got four teams winning races on a regular basis, so I don't see how you can put anybody as a favourite going into 2025.

"So it is unlike 2024, but credit to [technical director] Peter Prodromou, he went into 2024 thinking we could win the world championship, but I wasn't there.

"I'm there now and we're going to try and win the constructors' and drivers' world championships, but that is the mindset of everyone else.

"I know there are three other teams, and maybe a surprise, but at least three other teams that will have the same mindset and we have as good a chance as anyone."
