Heavy rain is currently forecast for this afternoon's Brazilian Grand Prix, which disruption being likely. According to the FIA's latest forecast, there is more than an 80% chance of heavy rain throughout the entirety of the grand prix. The rain expected to fall will be heavier than what faced the drivers on Sunday morning in qualifying. Five red flags were required during an eventful qualifying session, which has thrown the participation of multiple drivers into doubt. A dry spell is expected an hour before the race gets underway at 12:30 local time; however, persistent heavy rain is forecast for 30 minutes before the grand prix. The FIA's current forecast of the rain is that an "increasing intensity expected with a clap of thunder possible in the afternoon. Up to 20mm [of rainfall] through the day possible."
