Audi has refused to comment on the rumours linking team principal Jonthan Wheatley to a shock switch to Aston Martin.
With Adrian Newey allegedly shopping around for his own successor at the Silverstone-based squad, it is being reported that his former Red Bull colleague is set to take over the position, with the acclaimed aerodynamicist slated to return to merely his managing technical partner role.
Aston Martin has denied the supposed developments and said it does not "engage" with such speculation.
Audi has now followed suit, with a spokesperson telling RacingNews365 that the team "do not comment on speculation" despite the reports gaining traction.
Wheatley has only been in the team principal role at the former Sauber team since April last year, but has, along with CEO Mattia Binotto, been an influential figure in helping the team recover from scoring just four points all season in 2024, and in overseeing its transition into the works Audi squad.
The German team scored points in its debut grand prix, in Melbourne, with Gabriel Bortoleto bringing his R26 home in ninth place.
