Aston Martin first details of extraordinary Hungary F1 upgrade revealed

The opening details of Aston Martin's first upgrade package of the season have been revealed ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, featuring an extraordinary 16 new components.

Aston Martin has introduced what is effectively a B-spec car for Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll at the Hungaroring, making it the biggest single upgrade package in the paddock this season.

Virtually every area of the AMR26 has been upgraded, while Honda's power unit is set to receive its first upgrade after the summer break at Zandvoort.

For this weekend, though, Aston Martin has introduced a new front wing, front wing endplate, nose, front corner, floor body, floor corners, floor fences, floor edge, diffuser, sidepod inlet, engine cover, cooling louvres, rear suspension, rear corner, rear wing, beam wing and rear wing endplate.

Aston Martin also broke curfew for the first time this campaign, as it worked late to install the new parts to both cars.

There are upgrades across almost the entire paddock, with Alpine the only team without any new parts. Ferrari has only a circuit-specific rear wing, although it does feature a new flap design, while Williams also has only circuit-specific additions.

As for the other leading teams, Mercedes has a new engine cover and tail, McLaren has a new rear wing, floor corner, floor body and floor edges, while Red Bull has a new floor and has reintroduced its upside-down rear wing, which was removed after Silverstone for checks. Modifications have been made to enable its return.

In the midfield, Racing Bulls has a new roll hoop and rear wing, Haas has a new rear wing, Audi has a new rear wing and, finally, Cadillac has new brake cooling.
