Max Verstappen's absence from Season 4 of Netflix's Drive to Survive was unfortunate as the series played out his thrilling 2021 Formula 1 title battle with Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen felt that the series "faked" certain rivalries between drivers and so he would not be a part of the series. Instead, his Red Bull boss Christian Horner was used to fill in gaps in Verstappen's story - which ended with the 2021 title - and a dollop of controversy. Hamilton was in season 4 - but with Season 5 set to drop globally on Friday 24th February, are both drivers taking part in the new 10-part series?
Verstappen and Hamilton in Drive to Survive
Verstappen has ended his boycott of Drive to Survive and is taking part with sit-down interviews throughout Season 5 of the show. The new series focuses on his dominant 2022 season where he claimed 15 wins and 454 points, both new all-time F1 records in a single campaign. As for Hamilton, the seven-time champion also appears on the show, discussing Mercedes' troubled year where he failed to win a race for the first time and finished a career-worst sixth in the standings.
