Mahomes and Alexander-Arnold among €200 million investors in Alpine's F1 team

The team has welcomed further investment from headline figures from the world of sports.

Alpine has welcomed a consortium of world-famous sports stars as part of its latest investment through Otro Capital. The €200 Million investment into the Formula 1 team will see top professionals from the world of sports become involved with the team, including NFL players and Super Bowl winners Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, golfer Rory Mcllroy, and Liverpool's Trend Alexander-Arnold. The addition of the headline athletes will help increase the global awareness of the Alpine brand, as Renault looks to further bolster its position in the sports car market. Boxer Anthony Joshua, professional football player Juan Mata, and venture capitalist Roger Ehrenberg are also among those involved in the investment.

The latest investment from Otro Capital comes after their initial £171m alongside RedBird Capital Partners and Maximum Effort Investors. The latter is Hollywood star and Wrexham FC co-owner Ryan Reynolds firm, which also has ties to his other brands including Deadpool and Aviation Gin. Alexander-Arnold, who was at the British Grand Prix as part of his ties to Red Bull as an athlete, said: “I’m excited to be joining Otro Capital’s group as an investor into Alpine F1 along with my brother Tyler. "Having been to Formula 1 races as a fan, I love the high-pressure environment of the paddock and I’ve seen firsthand how incredibly impressive the Alpine team is. "Our shared goal as an investment group is to help contribute to its continued success on the grid, at a time when F1 is facing incredible growth as a sport. "As a footballer, I understand the importance of teamwork, innovation and determination in achieving goals.”
