Fernando Alonso has been confirmed to drive the entire second day of the Bahrain pre-season test, with teammate Lance Stroll still unconfirmed for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Aston Martin elected to use reserve driver Felipe Drugovich in place of the injured Stroll for the morning of the first test day, with Alonso taking the wheel of the AMR23 for the afternoon.
There was impressive pace from Alonso, who finished second fastest to Red Bull's Max Verstappen at the Bahrain International Circuit.
After assessing their options for the second test day, Aston Martin confirmed that Alonso would complete the full day, with Drugovich remaining on standby.
The team also confirmed that the lineup for the third day would be decided 'in due course'.
It remains unclear if Aston Martin will achieve their goal of bringing Stroll back into the cockpit for the opening event of the season, the Bahrain GP.
