Alex Albon triggered a second red flag in the sole practice session ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix.
The Williams driver suffered a heavy impact on the exit of Turn 7, resulting in major damage to his FW48.
Due to the severity of the accident, the medical car was deployed. However, Albon quickly exited the car under his own power.
Sadly, a marmot was killed in Albon's crash, resulting in broadcasters not immediately showing replays of the incident.
Onboard footage of the crash did circulate quickly on social media, showing that Albon did try to avoid hitting the marmot, but that it was the contact which caused him to go into the wall.
