Alex Albon's qualifying session at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix came to a premature end following a crash in the opening minutes of Q1.
The Williams driver was starting a hot lap when he clipped the inside barrier at Turn 1.
It marked a disappointing low for Albon, who finished inside the top 10 during every practice session this weekend and was looking promising for an entry into Q3.
The crash caused a brief red flag, but the session was resumed swiftly after the stricken Williams was cleared away.
Albon is now set to start the grand prix on Sunday from the back of the grid.
The 29-year-old entered the Baku weekend in strong form, scoring points at four out of the last five races.
