Alex Albon has recounted how a tussle with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel during a race in 2020 resulted in him having a less-than-pleasant encounter with one of the German driver’s fans. The then Red Bull driver Albon was at a race after-party last season when, he told the Scott Mills Show, an inebriated Ferrari fan decided that his presence had become unwelcome. “Some guy was there that was a Ferrari fan, he had the cap on and he told me that he was a huge Sebastian Vettel fan,” he said. “I was sitting at his table because I was waiting for drinks and tired of standing up, and he started to get quite angry after a while, telling me to leave, but the bar was right next to us so I said ‘I’ll be five minutes’ basically.” “He then tried to have a fight with me, tried to pick me up and it was that awkward thing where I was just wondering what it is you do in this situation. “His wife got the security guard to come and get me and kick me out. But obviously then the security guard just collected them two, saw who they were speaking to, and put them outside. “I must have annoyed him somehow as during that race I was up against Vettel the whole race having a full back and forth.”
