Albon stays at Williams

Another piece of the driver jigsaw has fallen into place as Alex Albon has committed his long-term future to Williams on a multi-year deal. 

The Thai has been with the team since 2022 and is seen as a crucial cog in the rebuild being overseen by boss James Vowles. 

There is no news yet of who his team-mate will be with Logan Sargeant struggling to match Albon's performances.

What does it mean for the driver market?

The removal of Albon from the driver market will have some big knock-on effects, chiefly for Red Bull and Mercedes.

FIA and F1 call truce

Tensions over the past couple of years have grown between the FIA and F1, with the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the Andretti saga both among the flashpoints between the two bodies.

However, peace has broken out after talks between Mohammed Ben Sulayem and Stefano Domenicali, with the need to re-negotiate the Concorde Agreement coming onto the horizon.
