The #35 Alpine, driven by Ferdinand Habsburg, went fastest in the first Hypercar qualifying for the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Austrian, who thanked his mother afterwards for believing in him, safely got his car through to the Thursday evening grid-setting showdowns, beating the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team Jota and the #101 Cadillac WTR.
Stoffel Vandoorne in the #93 Peugeot, the #83 AF Corse Ferrari, which won the legendary race outright last year, and the #94 Peugeot failed to make it through and will start P16 to P18, respectively, at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France.
The top 15 entries from each of the three classes progress to tomorrow's Hyperpole qualifying sessions, retaining the opportunity to secure the best starting position for its representative group.
In LMP2, Doriane Pin secured the quickest time for the #30 Duqueine Team machine, ahead of the #37 CLX Motorsport car and the #343 Inter Europol Competition entry.
For LMGT3, the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF, driven by Peter Dempsey, topped the timing board, from the #77 Proton Competition and the #23 Heart of Racing Team.
