George Russell topped the only free practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, setting a time two tenths of a second quicker than Charles Leclerc in second.
Lando Norris was third fastest in daylight at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in what was a largely uneventful hour of preparation running.
Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri rounded out the top five, with Kimi Antonelli down in seventh after a late mistake ruined his final push lap.
Unusually for the weekend in the Southeast Asian city-state, the opening free practice session provided representative conditions, with the sprint taking part at the same time of day.
Max Verstappen was without team radio for half the session, making his hour more difficult than it needed to be. The Red Bull driver finished in sixth.
Nico Hulkenberg experienced an issue that caused his R26 to stop on track, bringing out a virtual safety car. However, the German was able to park up at pit exit, so the car was easily retrieved.
Audi will now investigate the problem with a view to having him running again in sprint qualifying.
