Charles Leclerc stood atop the timing board in the third and final practice session at the British Grand Prix in cool, overcast conditions at Silverstone.
The threat of rain persists heading into qualifying, which will not be welcome news to the Ferrari driver, who set a lap time of 1:25.498.
That was less than a tenth of a second clear of Oscar Piastri in second place. Max Verstappen was third fastest with Lando Norris and Yuki Tsunoda rounding out the top five.
The session was delayed by five minutes as marshals cleared tyre marbles from the track. When the hour did get underway, it was a quiet affair.
Liam Lawson was momentarily noted for alleged erratic driving, but the stewards declined to investigate, determining no further action was necessary. He was, however, handed a black and white flag as a warning.
That was until two late red flags. One for some debris at the end of the Hangar Straight. When the session resumed, Gabriel Bortoleto had a big crash, ending the hour two minutes early.
Ollie Bearman had a bizarre moment on the way back into the pit lane. On cold brakes, the Haas driver took the nose off his VF-25 after hitting the wall. He is under investigation for a potential red flag infringement.
