Oscar Piastri emphatically clinched pole for the sprint at the Belgian Grand Prix, setting a lap time of 1:40.510 at Spa-Francorchamps, a new lap record.
That was just under a stunning five-tenths clear of Max Verstappen in second, with Lando Norris completing the top three in the first grid-setting session of the weekend.
Charles Leclerc and Esteban Ocon were fourth and fifth-quickest, respectively.
Lewis Hamilton headlined a host of big names who found themselves eliminated in SQ1, alongside Kimi Antonelli and Silverstone podium-sitter Nico Hulkenberg.
Mercedes' difficult day continued in SQ2, with George Russell only managing to go P13, failing to make it through to the final part of sprint qualifying.
