Jak Crawford clinched victory in a wet-to-dry-to-wet F2 feature race at the British Grand Prix, beating Alex Dunne in a safety car finish after a chaotic conclusion.
The changeable conditions added an intriguing element to the longer primary support race at Silverstone, with the field holding onto heavily degraded wet tyres until the late stages.
Crawford stormed into the lead at the start, taking both Victor Martins and Dunne off the line, the latter managing to hold second as the former fell behind.
Luke Browning rounded out the podium after working his way through the order, with Dino Beganovic and Sebastian Montoya completing the top five.
Despite finishing seventh, Richard Verschoor retained his championship lead, which is now just six points over Crawford.
However, the American entered the pits for his single stop just after a virtual safety car was called, leaving his victory in jeopardy of being taken away.
Under F2 rules, drivers are not permitted to pit under VSC conditions. If he is penalised, it would be a brutal break for the Aston Martin junior as he was already committed to the pit lane when it was called.
