Lando Norris has taken pole position for the United States Grand Prix, besting Max Verstappen to the top spot.
Verstappen looked on course to beat Norris' lap time during the final attempt, before double-waved yellows following a crash for George Russell in the final sector put a stop to his charge.
Mercedes' woeful day also consisted of Lewis Hamilton suffering a disastrous session and exiting early, finishing the Q1 segment in 19th place.
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were third and fourth fastest respectively.
