Max Verstappen stormed to pole position for the Qatar Grand Prix, besting George Russell by half-a-tenth of a second.
McLaren driver Lando Norris rounded out the top three at the Lusail International Circuit, with team-mate Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Sergio Perez, and Kevin Magnussen completed the top 10 ahead of the 57-lap grand prix.
However, the Dutchman has been noted by race control for going too slowly on one of his cool laps, something that could yet yield a penalty for the recently-crowned four-time drivers' champion.
