Max Verstappen shaded Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez to earn pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.
Having dominated through practice, Verstappen was favourite for pole, and duly converted into a fifth straight P1 start, and is joined on the front-row by Perez in the sister Red Bull.
The Mexican was less than a tenth behind the Dutchman, as Lando Norris completed the top three with Fernando Alonso fifth and Lewis Hamilton seventh.
