Paul Aron of Hitech Pulse-Eight scored F2 pole at Spa-Francorchamps, whilst Invicta driver Gabriel Bortoleto and Campos Racing's Isack Hadjar finished qualifying in second and third position.
There was an early red flag, after Victor Martins' ART Grand Prix machine rolled to a halt, ending his afternoon. He will start both races from P22.
Jak Crawford and Andrea Kimi Antonelli will begin the feature race from fourth and fifth places, respectively. However, the latter driver will be investigated after the session for a pit lane infringement.
Zane Maloney, Franco Colapinto, Richard Verschoor will line up in sixth, seventh and eighth.
Dennis Hauger and Zak O'Sullivan claimed ninth and tenth during qualifying, so will start Saturday's sprint on the front row, with the top 10 being reversed for that race.
