Yuki Tsunoda was once again forced to miss out on the top 10 qualifying shootout amid an early session exit in Mexico.
Tsunoda ended the Q2 segment around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez in 11th place, lapping just 0.012s slower than Isack Hadjar in 10th.
It marks the third consecutive race he has failed to advance to the final part of qualifying.
Tsunoda was handed praise over his performance at the US Grand Prix by Red Bull team boss Laurent Mekies following his drive to P7.
The Japanese driver is under heavy scrutiny as Red Bull nears a decision over its driver line-up for next year.
Tsunoda is widely expected to be moved aside in favour of Hadjar, but it is not clear if he will be retained within the Red Bull pool and keep a spot on the grid with Racing Bulls.
Red Bull previously suggested it would make a decision regarding its line-ups post-Mexico - however Mekies has since hinted it may delay the call.
