Toto Wolff has lamented the "inexcusable" decisions at Mercedes that led to Lewis Hamilton being eliminated in the first part of qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Austrian was clearly aggrieved by the situation, with the British driver only finishing Q1 in P18. He will be elevated to P16 due to grid penalties for Alexander Albon and Charles Leclerc.

Norris delivers emotional McLaren message after Verstappen 'flip around'

Lando Norris has delivered an emotional message to McLaren as the team's day of destiny nears in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. 

McLaren will win the constructors' championship for the first time since 1998 if it is not out-scored by Ferrari by 21 points if the Scuderia wins or by 22 points if not.

Hulkenberg stripped of stunning qualifying result by Abu Dhabi stewards

Nico Hulkenberg has lost his P4 on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix grid following a stewards investigation, being hit with a three-place grid penalty.

The Haas driver was summoned after an alleged failure to follow the race director's notes for overtaking in the pit-road exit, through the tunnel.

Mercedes exposed by 'flattering' F1 form after Abu Dhabi setback

George Russell has stated Mercedes' recent strong run of form created a sense of false optimism regarding the potential of its car.

Mercedes endured an uptick in form in the middle of the season and won three grands prix before slipping back in the order.

Sainz reveals Ferrari 'homework' failure as F1 title defeat looms

Carlos Sainz feels Ferrari should "have done its homework" earlier in fixing weaknesses in its F1 car ahead of the Abu Dhabi title-decider.

Sainz starts third on the Yas Marina Circuit grid behind the all-McLaren front-row of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, with Scuderia team-mate Charles Leclerc 20th and last following a grid penalty.

Hamilton reveals final Mercedes wish after qualifying tragedy

Lewis Hamilton has stated he is aiming to reach the points in his final race for Mercedes following his disastrous qualifying outing in Abu Dhabi.

The seven-time world champion failed to improve on his fastest lap time at the end of Q1 when a bollard became stuck underneath his car.
