F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff has confirmed she has filed a criminal complaint against the FIA in relation to statements made in December last year. Wolff and husband Toto - Mercedes team principal - were placed under investigation by F1's governing body after an alleged complaint from rivals, documented in reports at the time, about a conflict of interest between their two roles. It was alleged that information not otherwise available to either party was able to be transferred because of their roles, though after a unanimous backing by all rival F1 teams - with identical statements put out on social media - the case was dropped. When the allegations were first made, F1 Academy's Wolff said she was "deeply insulted" by the comments made that were rooted in "intimidatory and misogynistic behaviour".
Whilst there has been no movements on the matter since, Wolff released a statement ahead of the Australian Grand Prix which read: "I can confirm that I have personally filed a criminal complaint in the French courts on the 4 March in relation to the statements made about me by the FIA last December. “There has still not been any transparency or accountability in relation to the conduct of the FIA and its personnel in this matter. “I feel more than ever it is important to stand up, call out improper behaviour and make sure people are held to account. “Whilst some may think silence absolves them from responsibility - it does not.”
