Williams has announced that Academy member and 2023 FIA Formula 3 runner-up Zak O'Sullivan is be promoted to FIA Formula 2 for next season. O'Sullivan has spent two seasons in F3 with Carlin and then the Prema Racing squads, taking four victories with the latter as he finished runner-up to Gabriel Bortoleto. The 18-year-old British driver secured the most wins in the series, and will step up to the next run on the ladder below F1 with ART Grand Prix - the same team that guided Lewis Hamilton and Stoffel Vandoorne to what was then the GP2 title, with current driver Theo Pourchaire set to claim the title in the Abu Dhabi finale. "I am delighted to join forces with ART Grand Prix for the 2024 FIA Formula 2 season,” O’Sullivan said. "The team has clearly demonstrated it has all the attributes to win, so I cannot wait to get started."
