Daniel Ricciardo finds himself in a precarious position with Yuki Tsunoda already confirmed for next season and Liam Lawson waiting in the wings.

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has said a decision on the latter driver will be announced in September, so it will not be long before the racing world and Ricciardo has more clarity on his future.

The 35-year-old came into the season with one goal: to take Sergio Perez's seat at Red Bull and slot in alongside Max Verstappen in 2025.

However, a sluggish start to the year and increasing pressure from the Lawson camp for the New Zealander to be given a full-time drive means that despite the considerable struggles of Perez, Ricciardo could as easily be about to embark on his final 10 grands prix as replace the Mexican driver next term.

The Australian is treating his time at RB as his "last chance", as he told RacingNews365 in a recent exclusive interview, and with signs increasingly pointing towards Lawson partnering Tsunoda in 2025 - if he is offered a seat in the Red Bull set up at all - there is a good chance Ricciardo will either be team-mate to Verstappen or not racing in F1 at all.

So, once F1 returns from the summer break, Ricciardo's future could be contingent upon two factors, only one of which he can control: his performances for RB and Perez's form at Red Bull.
