Will rain affect qualifying for the Canadian GP?

Montreal has already been hit by showers since F1 arrived for the Canadian Grand Prix, and the possibility remains of further rainfall on Saturday afternoon.

Rain has already been falling in Montreal whilst F1 visits for the first Canadian Grand Prix since 2019, but so far the showers have not hit during track sessions. However, there is a risk of that changing during Saturday's running, with rain potentially forecast for the afternoon. There has been drizzle at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve during Saturday morning, and WeerOnline reports a further increased chance of showers from noon local time onwards, which would suggest that rain could possibly fall during Free Practice 3. The most optimistic forecasts indicate that it may dry up from 16:00 local time, exactly when qualifying starts. In that case, the session may get off to a wet start.
