Max Verstappen for several months has been linked with an exit from Red Bull, but will it ever actually happen?

Rumours over the Dutchman's future first surfaced at the start of last season, following the investigation into Christian Horner who was later cleared of any wrongdoing.

It was followed by reports of a power struggle between the team principal and motorsport advisor Helmut Marko.

The drama continued, as Verstappen's father, Jos, went public with criticism of Horner. It led to the 27-year-old being linked to Mercedes, who opted to sign Kimi Antonelli.

This season, rumours over a Red Bull departure have continued due to the team's difficulties with the RB21, and fears over its power unit for the new regulations next year.

Verstappen has been linked to Mercedes and Aston Martin in particular, although he has insisted that he has no plans to leave the Milton Keynes-based outfit.
