Romain Grosjean last raced in F1 in 2020 and is currently the reserve driver for Prema in IndyCar, the team's first season competing in the American single-seater championship.
In what was due to be his penultimate grand prix for Haas, the Frenchman was involved in a fiery crash, miraculously escaping the wreckage with his life. He required a skin graft on one hand and was unable compete in his final race for the team.
