It is the budding rivalry we never saw coming: 2021 NASCAR champion Kyle Larson vs. 2021 (and 2022 and 2023) F1 champion Max Verstappen.

The American claimed that he knows in his mind that he is "better" than the Dutchman as an "all-round driver," when speaking on FloRacing.

It was a forthright statement, and one that was quickly shot down by Dakar Rally driver Tim Coronel, who wagered that Verstappen would leave Larson "crying in a corner" when speaking to RacingNews365.

There is often a tendency to try and compare great drivers across different eras of the same motorsport series: Senna vs. Hamilton in F1; Earnhardt vs. Johnson in NASCAR; Foyt vs. Dixon in what is now IndyCar, and so on...

However, if that can be a thankless task and an almost impossible exercise, is it possible to compare drivers who will likely never share the asphalt with one another?

Let us know what you think. Is it possible, and if so, who do you think is better between Kyle Larson and Max Verstappen? Comment or vote below in the latest poll by RacingNews365.
