After a crushing first half of the season in which the team scored 11 wins from 14 races, and scored a total of 24 from 28 podiums, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have hauled 559 points between them.
This puts McLaren on course to win a 10th F1 constructors' title, leap-frogging Williams into all-time second on the list, behind Ferrari's 16.
As it stands, following the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, Ferrari is McLaren's closest challenger on 260 points, 339 behind, and the title can be wrapped up in just THREE races' time.
When can McLaren win 2025 F1 constructors' championship.
Mathematically, McLaren can win the 2025 F1 constructors' championship in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, in Baku on September 21st.
For this to happen, the following events would need to play out.
McLaren scores a maximum haul of 43 points from each of the Dutch, Italian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix. This takes their total to 688 following the Baku race.
Nearest challengers, Ferrari score 27 points in each of those three races via three-four finishes, moving the Scuderia to 341 points after Baku.
This would give McLaren a lead of 347 points, with 346 remaining in the final seven grands prix, three of which are Sprint races.
It means McLaren can win the 2025 F1 constructors' championship in round 17 of the 24-race season.

What records can McLaren break in 2025?
As well as winning a 10th constructors' title, McLaren can smash Red Bull's record points haul, set in 2023.
That year, Red Bull posted 860 points with McLaren currently 301 points behind on 559. There are a total of 475 points remaining in the season after Hungary, meaning McLaren could reach 1,034 if it does not drop a point between now and Abu Dhabi.
Should the team win the constructors' in Azerbaijan with seven grands prix remaining, it will also break Red Bull's 2023 record of earliest constructors' championship victory, by number of races left.
In 2023, Red Bull wrapped up the title in Round 16 of 22 in Japan, with six remaining.
