Formula 1 have announced a record-breaking 23-round calendar for the 2022 season.

As originally revealed by RacingNews365.com, the season will start in Bahrain on 20 March and end in Abu Dhabi on 20 November.

The Australian, Canadian, Singapore and Japanese Grands Prix all return to the F1 schedule after being absent since 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic. China again misses out, though, and will not return until 2023.

Miami is a new arrival as F1 adds another race in the US, with more planned going forward.

Before the season kicks off, six days of pre-season testing will take place; three are to be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from February 23-25, and the other three at the Bahrain International Circuit from 10-12 March.
