Imola circuit
The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix returned to the calendar in 2020 when the corona crisis prompted a search for alternatives to races outside Europe that could not take place. Again in 2021, the race was included in the calendar for the same reason, after which F1 decided to give a three-year contract to the beautiful circuit near Imola. In both 2021 and 2022, Max Verstappen managed to seize victory.
Imola is known for its flowing corners interspersed with challenging chicanes. Overtaking is difficult there, yet there have been regular fine battles on the circuit in Italy. The name of the Grand Prix is derived from the name of the region in which the circuit is located.
