Jacques Villeneuve feels that signing Mick Schumacher would constitute a risk for teams as they would be "hoping" he has improved since his Haas tenure.

The Canadian highlighted that despite Schumacher and his team's best efforts, "no one seems to be jumping to get him on their team".

Red Bull weakness identified in Perez form quest

Red Bull technical director Pierre Waché feels he is aware of what is required to help the under-performing Sergio Perez rediscover his confidence.

Perez's form has slumped alarmingly since a reasonable start to the campaign in which he scored four podiums in the first five races.

Why $100m Aston Martin Newey deal is not a given

It has been reported with some degree of certainty that Adrian Newey has signed a deal with Aston Martin.

The Italian Autosprint publication is stating that technical guru Newey has signed a four-year deal worth a staggering $100m, with confirmation to be announced in September.

'Really critical' area identified in F1 upgrades battle

Aston Martin technical director Dan Fallows believes all teams are struggling to make upgrades work on their cars the deeper F1 heads into the current regulation set.

At the start of 2022, F1 returned to a ground-effect era with its cars, since when Red Bull has dominated, at least up until the early part of this season after Max Verstappen won four of the first five grands prix.

Mercedes 'risk' highlighted with teenage sensation

Mercedes has been warned it will be taking "a risk" in promoting Kimi Antonelli, although its nurturing of the teenage sensation will at least pave the way to his expected F1 promotion.

Following a stellar junior career under the considerable wing of Mercedes, Antonelli has found himself in the spotlight this season due to constant rumours he will replace Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton next year.

Norris to channel inner Vettel to beat Verstappen

Lando Norris must overturn a 78-point deficit to Max Verstappen when F1 returns from the summer break if he is to become drivers' champion.

Whilst this represents a comfortable advantage for the Dutchman, with 10 grands prix and three sprints remaining, the battle is far from over.
