Verstappen gets disqualified from virtual race

The Red Bull driver was involved in yet another incident whilst battling for the lead, and was later black flagged altogether after both he and his teammate accumulated too many penalty points.

Max Verstappen's involvement in Sunday's BMW SIM GT Cup race was cut short after the Red Bull driver and his teammate were disqualified well before the chequered flag came out. The Dutchman was battling for the lead early on, in what was the second round of the series at Suzuka. But yet another incident with sim racer Josh Rogers, whereby Verstappen attempted to pass around the outside of turn one, saw both drivers take each other out in spectacular fashion. Thankfully, the 23-year-old was able to continue, but after another handful of infringements involving his teammate Gianno Salvo, the pair were disqualified well before the race time limit was up. A video showing the turn one incident with Rogers can be found below.
