Video: Verstappen crashes out of Spa F3 sim race in bizarre fashion

The Dutch driver was racing in a virtual F3 competition at the historic Belgian track, but soon after the start things took a turn for the worse.

Max Verstappen crashed out of yesterday’s virtual F3 race on the iRacing platform at Spa-Francorchamps in strange video-game fashion after a clash in the opening laps.

The Dutchman was going side by side with rival Nicolás Varrone down the Kemmel Straight, and went through the first kink of Les Combes neck on neck with his Argentine counterpart before he suddenly crashed out.

To add insult to injury, an iRacing glitch caused his car to be ‘hit’ by his competitor despite there being clear space between the cars. He then returned to the track, only to be again rammed by another driver.
