Reigning F1 World Champion Max Verstappen has demanded increased checks on drain covers ahead of race weekends after the latest issues during pre-season testing in Bahrain.

After the morning session was curtailed on day two following damage sustained by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc - the Scuderia forced into a floor change - another red flag was thrown early on the final day after a drain cover came loose, forcing a rejig to the running schedule for a second day running.

Former F1 driver dies after Christmas dinner incident

Ex-Formula 1 driver Wilson Fittipaldi has died after suffering a cardiac arrest last Christmas.

Fittipaldi choked on a piece of food on Christmas Day, which is also his birthday, and went into cardiac arrest when his airway was unable to be cleared. Having been in hospital ever since the incident, Fittipaldi has now passed away at the age of 80.

Ferrari 'on another planet' in F1 testing

Ferrari is on "another planet" with its tyre degradation over race simulations, an upbeat Frederic Vasseur has claimed.

One of the big weaknesses of the 2023 car was high tyre wear which meant Ferrari was capable of challenging for pole positions over a single lap, but it could not translate this to the race.

Norris airs McLaren concern as new season looms

Lando Norris fears McLaren is still a "long way" behind Red Bull and Ferrari following pre-testing in Bahrain.

The Briton finished 14th on the timesheet on the final day after driving the car in the morning session, with McLaren showing consistent times throughout the three days.

RB confirms closure of Bicester facility ahead of move

RB Team Principal Laurent Mekies has confirmed that the team's UK facility in Bicester is to close in favour of a purpose-built facility in Milton Keynes.

The team has operated the outpost in the United Kingdom since 2009, with it being used for wind-tunnel testing, with the main base of operations remaining in Faenza in Italy.

Hamilton explains 'huge challenge' he faces at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton says his shock move to Ferrari for 2025 was driven in part by the "huge challenge" of restoring the team to title-winning ways.

Despite signing a new two-year Mercedes contract last year, Hamilton stunned the F1 world on February 1st when it was announced he had activated a break clause, and would sign for Ferrari from 2025.
