It has been an eventful week for Max Verstappen; not only did the Dutchman help to launch Red Bull's 2022 F1 car , but he has also claimed another victory in his latest virtual racing event. Verstappen took part in the online version of the 12 Hours of Bathurst over the weekend, racing for his usual outfit, Team Redline. The World Champion and teammate Luke Bennett qualified in fifth for the competition, and quickly took the lead within a matter of laps. From there, the duo maintained position and claimed a dominant win behind the wheel of a McLaren car, an MP4-12C GT3. Verstappen was pleased with his and Bennett's achievement. "It was nice to race," the Red Bull driver told Verstappen.com. "The car went great, just like last year even though we had a different car then. Our young protege Luke drove very solidly, which is nice to see. "It is nice that together we managed to win this race for Team Redline." It won't be too much longer until Verstappen is back on a real track rather than a virtual one, with the first pre-season test ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 season taking place in Barcelona on 23-25 February. This will be followed by a second test on 10-12 March in Bahrain, before the campaign begins one week later with the Bahrain Grand Prix on 18-20 March.
