Max Verstappen was missing from Team Redline's lineup announcement, having indicated on the Thursday of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix that he was not yet sure if he would participate during what would be a busy weekend anyway. When pressed on Thursday of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend if he would be competing in the virtual Spa 24 Hours, Max Verstappen was non-commital. The Red Bull driver, who will start third at the Hungaroring, felt the schedule was a little too busy to fully commit to joining his Team Redline colleagues, but ultimately, the triple world champion did his shift. Verstappen jumped behind the wheel of the BMW M4 machine at about midnight, pulling a three-hour stint before handing over to Diogo Pinto at 03:18 local time. Verstappen's car is running well and started the morning a few seconds behind the sister Team Redline entry.
