Max Verstappen has been summoned by Hungarian Grand Prix stewards over the late clash with Lewis Hamilton.

Already frustrated by Red Bull's strategy calls that put him fifth after the final pit-stop, Verstappen passed Charles Leclerc's Ferrari for fourth and began to home in on Hamilton's Mercedes in third.

On Lap 63 of 70, Verstappen attempted to dive up the inside of Turn 1, but overcooked his braking and his rear-left collided with the front-right of Hamilton.

Verstappen was tipped into the air and lost position to Leclerc, taking fifth in a squabble with the second Ferrari of Carlos Sainz as Hamilton banked a 200th career podium behind Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

For causing the collision, Verstappen has been summoned to appear before the stewards at 17:50 local time, having already been cleared in an investigation for going wide at Turn 1 on the opening lap and jumping ahead of Norris.

By giving the position back to the Briton, Verstappen avoided a penalty.
