Verstappen putting 'lots of focus' in key Red Bull area

The two-time Formula 1 champion has improved this area after problems in the past.

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner says Max Verstappen has been focusing a lot on a key area during this season. The Dutchman has suffered from poor starts off the line at a handful of races in 2023, notably at the British Grand Prix which caused him to drop behind Lando Norris. This was improved at the Hungarian GP after Verstappen got a better launch off the line from Lewis Hamilton, enabling him to lead into Turn 1 and effectively seal the race victory. After starting sixth on the grid in Belgium, Verstappen began his charge to the front by not losing any positions to Lando Norris before making his way past a slow Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz for P4.

Horner: It's always fine margins

Horner says the Dutchman focused on perfecting this main area when speaking to media, including RacingNews365 : "It's always fine margins, I think we've had some variable starts this year. "He's [Verstappen] been putting a lot of focus working with the engineers on that working with the guys at Red Bull Powertrains and Honda."
