Verstappen outlines 'interesting' Lawson Red Bull vision

A new driver line-up at Red Bull as the team looks to reclaim the constructors' championship this year!

Max Verstappen has stated he is excited by the prospect of working alongside Liam Lawson during the upcoming F1 campaign.

Lawson has been promoted to Red Bull in place of Sergio Perez despite having just 11 grand prix starts to his name.

Lawson has been associated with the Red Bull programme for a number of years and worked with Verstappen in a reserve driver role before receiving a race seat.

The pair are aiming to restore Red Bull to the top of the constructors' championship after it was defeated by McLaren in 2024.

“It’s very exciting,” Verstappen said ahead of the new season.

“We have seen Liam grow within the Red Bull family and it’s going to be very interesting to work together with the team.

“I really hope we can do a good job together, to try to improve the car and make it more competitive.”

Verstappen aiming for consistency boost

Verstappen enters the new season with the goal of securing his fifth F1 title, a feat that has only been achieved three times in the sport's history.

The Dutchman's route to the title had its challenges in 2024 as Red Bull slipped back in the pecking order midway through the year.

As he guns for another championship, Verstappen stated his goal is to enjoy a more consistent run of performances during the campaign.

“Well, what I always aim for anyways: consistency and try not to make too many mistakes, which of course goes a bit hand in hand.

“Try to always improve myself, every single year. It’s not car-related, just driving-related. You always try to just be a little bit better.

“I think at this stage of my career the improvements that you can make are smaller than when I was 18, but every year I would like to become a little bit better.”
