Max Verstappen has opted to purchase a new private plane, pouring many millions into the upgrade.

The four-time champion has already splashed out on a Mangusta superyacht, which he acquired earlier this year, naming it 'Unleash the Lion'.

The boat is 33 meters long and with his purchase, Verstappen followed in the footsteps of other athletes, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who also purchased a similar boat in Viareggio, Italy.

Now Max Verstappen has also bought a new private plane, having already possessed an alternate model for several years.

This is evident from the photo above that aerial photographer Gilles Brion took of a Falcon 8X from 2022 and which @VerstappenJet first reported on, already fully equipped with the recognisable Max Verstappen livery.

The aircraft is a bit larger than the Falcon 900EX and is said to have a market value of around $50 million.

The big advantage of the new aircraft is that it has a range of roughly 12,000 kilometres compared to 7,800 kilometres of the previous aircraft, making refuelling and stopovers almost never necessary.

The new Falcon 8X, which RacingNews365 understands was a show model from manufacturer Dassault Aviation, will receive another new registration.

That will reportedly be PH-UTL, with UTL of course standing for 'Unleash The Lion'.

In all likelihood, Verstappen's old aircraft will be sold.
