Max Verstappen will shake down Red Bull's new F1 title challenger at Silverstone on Tuesday, RacingNews365 has learned.

Verstappen will be in action at the British Grand Prix venue in the RB20 as he sets off on the long road of a record-breaking 24-race calendar towards potentially claiming a fourth drivers' title.

Following a change in the shake down rules for this season, teams are now allowed to cover a total of 200 kilometres, double what was previously allowed. For Silverstone, this means Red Bull's new car covering a total of 33 laps on Pirelli's demonstration tyres.

Verstappen looks set to be joined by team-mate Sergio Perez who will also tick off his first laps in the successor to last year's all-conquering RB19 that won 21 of 22 grands prix, with the Dutchman taking the chequered flag on 19 occasions.

With a dry morning forecast, it means Red Bull should be able to hit the ground running in a car that will officially be unveiled on Thursday at its Milton Keynes headquarters where RacingNews365 will be in attendance.

With the shake down taking place before the unveiling, it means Verstappen and Perez should be able to offer some insight into the RB20 that will then be put through its paces in pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit on February 21-23.

The season's curtain-raising grand prix will then take place at the same venue on March 2.
