Verstappen frustrated: It's not been a lot of fun

The Red Bull driver was annoyed with his qualifying performance as he starts from third position for Sunday's Portuguese GP in Portimao.

Max Verstappen was frustrated with his qualifying after he lost out to Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton in the final part of the session. Verstappen set the quickest time of Q3 on his first run but his laptime was deleted after he went off the track at Turn 4. As the wind picked up, the Dutchman could only manage to get his car into third place. "All qualifying was very difficult to drive, struggling a lot with grip," said Verstappen after qualifying. "The first lap in Q3 was actually decent but I had a big moment at Turn 4. "Hopefully everything stabilises a bit more because up until now, it's not been a lot of fun to drive here. "I was quite confident we could still do a good final lap but the last sector, the car in front just disturbs you especially with the low grip we already have and the tough wind. It cost me a lot of lap time, but it is what it is."
