Max Verstappen has asserted “nothing changes” regarding his future with Red Bull following a difficult Chinese Grand Prix.

Verstappen endured a challenging opening lap as dropped a handful of positions having started from fourth place.

The Dutchman was able to recover the places as the race progressed and crossed the line in fourth, bringing home 12 points for Red Bull.

Across the last year, Verstappen has been linked with a move away from Red Bull with Mercedes and Aston Martin listed as potential destinations.

With Red Bull enduring early season challenges, Verstappen asserted its current position in the competitive order does not alter anything regarding his future.

“I hear this all the time, but for me, nothing changes,” Verstappen told Sky F1.

“I’m actually very relaxed. I'm very positive in my mind. I'm enjoying life. So every time I jump in the car, I just try to do the best I can.

“I’m not thinking about anything else, to be honest. I feel good in life in general, if that's in the car, outside the car - that’s actually what matters the most.”

Verstappen enjoyed stronger pace after switching to the hard tyres in the second stint.

The Dutchman highlighted Red Bull will use the near-two week break to analyse the situation and improve for round three in Japan.

“It’s difficult to say when you don’t really know where or how to find it at the moment,” Verstappen added when asked if it's only minor changes needed to find time.

“The last stint gives us more of a clearer picture, we’ll go through all of the data.

“We have 10 days, hopefully we can learn a little bit more and be a bit more competitive.”
