Valtteri Bottas has teased what his F1 future may hold in store with a social media post aimed at the fledgling Cadillac F1 project.

The Finnish driver posted a video in which an SUV from the General Motors-owned brand is pointed out to him, before a conversation over the car's "nice seat" ensues.

When asked if he would like to sit in one of the "two free seats", the 10-time-grand prix winner turns to the camera and replies "not yet", suggesting an announcement is impending.

It is the clearest sign yet that the Mercedes test and reserve driver will be back in a race seat next year - and that he will be joining Cadillac.

As one of the most experienced F1 drivers currently not competing full-time in the championship, his name has been linked to the project since F1 gave it the green light for 2026.

However, with Sergio Perez also in the mix and deemed a front-runner for a drive, it had been widely mooted the second seat would go to a driver with less experience, or an American.

The Mexican has also been touted as an option of Alpine in recent weeks, as Team Enstone looks to sort its second-seat woes. That development has potentially opened the door for Bottas at Cadillac.

Although, it remains a very real possibility the pair line up together for the American squad in the 2026 season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
