Two F1 drivers summoned over Bahrain FP2 near-miss

A near-miss in the Bahrain pitlane has led to two Formula 1 drivers being summoned by the stewards.

Lando Norris and Nyck de Vries have both been summoned to the Formula 1 stewards after a near-miss in Bahrain Grand Prix second practice. As the McLaren driver was trundling down the pitlane to start an out-lap, de Vries was released by the AlphaTauri team into the path of Norris - who had to brake sharply to avoid a collision. Unsafe releases are covered in Article 34.14 of the Sporting Regulations with rule A stating that: Cars must not be released from a garage or pitstop position in a way that could endanger pit-lane personnel or another driver. Both Norris and de Vries have been summoned to meet the stewards at 19:30 local time in Bahrain - 16:30 in GMT.
