Toto Wolff has revealed that Mercedes' failed Imola upgrade will "end in a bin somewhere" as he confirmed the plan for the team going forward.
Mercedes started the season strongly, with George Russell taking four podiums from the first six races, before a new rear suspension design was introduced at Imola.
The performance of the W16 fell away afterwards, with the exception of Canada, where Russell won and Kimi Antonelli was third, but the team remains in third place in the constructors'.
One problem for the team is that it cannot develop the current car as a team normally would, owing to the huge regulation changes coming in for 2026, with Wolff confirming that Brackley's full attention was now on 2026, as he gave an update on the fate of the troubled upgrade.
"No, there are [more] no upgrades [coming]," Wolff told media, including RacingNews365.
"I think everything is completely focused and concentrated on next year, and we know that we have a more stable platform, which is going to give us some goodness.
"Let's see how we can optimise tracks and engineering in terms of finding the right set-up and be as competitive as we can."
As for the fate of the rear suspension introduced at Imola, Wolff simply added that it would "be ending in a bin somewhere."
