Toto Wolff has recalled his previous experience of having "difficult conversations" with drivers as Mercedes continues to chase Max Verstappen.

Wolff is a long-term fan of Verstappen and is keen to lure the four-time champion away from Red Bull and join the Brackley squad for 2026.

Honda reject early Red Bull return rumour

Honda Racing president Koji Watanabe has rejected a rumour that Red Bull would have continued using the Japanese manufacturer's powertrains in 2026, if it could not produce its engine on time.

For the first time in its F1 history, Red Bull will produce its own powertrains for the new power unit regulations, starting from next year.

McLaren handed 'so close' verdict in Oscar Piastri-Lando Norris title fight

Former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer has insisted it is "so close" between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, and judged that neither driver has more momentum than the other.

Piastri leads Norris in the drivers' title by a marginal eight points, with Max Verstappen in third sitting 69 points adrift ahead of the second half of the season.

Charles Leclerc puzzled by unexplained Ferrari F1 slump

Charles Leclerc is puzzled by his slump in F1 qualifying performances, a previous strength of his.

The Ferrari driver is regarded as one of the fastest drivers, if not the fastest, over a single lap, and has 26 pole positions to his name - the most of any non-world champion and equal 12th on the all-time list with Mika Hakkinen.

Max Verstappen says he is "open-minded" about F1's huge regulation reset for 2026, and is not spending much time thinking about it.

For 2026, F1 cars are set to feature the biggest-ever change from season to season, with all-new chassis and power unit rules set to shake up the grid.

Lando Norris 'baggage' claim made as McLaren 'pressure cooker' heats up

Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert has claimed that Lando Norris has learnt to dump some of his mental "baggage", as the McLaren "pressure cooker" heats up in the drivers' title.

It looks increasingly likely to be an all-McLaren fight for the championship this season between Oscar Piastri and Norris, who are separated by just eight points.
