Race ban looms for Gasly after Ocon incident during Australian GP

Pierre Gasly is on the verge of a race ban and has been summoned to the stewards after the Australian Grand Prix shunt with teammate Esteban Ocon.

Alpine drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon have been summoned to the Formula 1 stewards after their Australian Grand Prix incident - with Gasly on the verge of a race ban. On the Lap 57 restart of a chaotic ending to the race in Melbourne, Gasly went wide at Turn 1, losing speed as Ocon came alongside in the sister Alpine. Gasly wasn't aware of Ocon being there, and the two teammates collided, putting both out of the race as a double points finish slipped from Alpine's grasp. Both have been told to report to the stewards, with Gasly currently on 10 penalty points, with 12 needed to trigger a one race ban.
